Led by Malatya Turgut Özal University, the "Strengthening Through Differences: An Inclusive University Protocol for Individuals with Autism and Their Families," designed to support the development of individuals with autism and provide psychosocial empowerment for their families, was implemented through a multi-stakeholder collaboration.
Our university, driven by a sense of social responsibility, has launched its work to improve the quality of life of individuals with autism and provide scientific and social support to their families.
This important project, initiated under the leadership of our university, will be implemented within the framework of a protocol signed with the Battalgazi Municipality, the Malatya Provincial Directorate of National Education, the Malatya Autism Mothers Association, and the Malatya Autism Association. The project aims to develop sustainable services for individuals with autism spectrum disorders in areas such as education, counseling, social adaptation, psychological support, and family education.
This multifaceted program, designed to increase the active participation of individuals with autism in social life, support their educational processes, and empower families in this process, stands out as an exemplary model of collaboration that combines academic expertise, local government support, and the field experience of civil society.
On the occasion of the signing of the protocol, we would like to thank the Mayor of Battalgazi, the Provincial Director of National Education, the Malatya Autism Mothers Association, and the Malatya Autism Association for their valuable contributions to the project.
We hope that this valuable collaboration, which will enable individuals with autism to participate more strongly and actively in social life, will be beneficial for our city and our country.
