The Turks were the first nation to instantly domesticate and spread throughout the world. Therefore, the journeys that began in Central Asia are also attributed to the Turks. The horse is a part of Turkish culture dating back six thousand years.
Throughout history, the Turkish nation and its unity have been a significant symbol in the intercontinental relations of this sacred civilization. This unity was the most important factor in the Turks' establishment of new homelands, the wide opening of Anatolia's gates, and even their advancement to the gates of Vienna in Europe.
The horse is the lightning bolt with which Alp Arslan defeated an army of one hundred thousand; it is Burak who paved the way for the reign of Mehmed the Conqueror; it is Aşkar who settled the mountains with Köroğlu; it is the lightning bolt with which Mustafa Kemal rode on his back from battlefront to battlefront.
Every initiative that advances horses and equestrianism is a demonstration of our contribution to development by preserving and developing our cultural heritage. Indeed, with an infrastructure that embraces the universal reach of contemporary science and scientific advancements, all efforts in the field of equestrianism and equestrian sports, a cornerstone of the Turkic world, culture, and market, benefit Türkiye, from production to education.
Our greatest wish is for horses, equestrianism, and their sports to gain greater importance, be more widely embraced by all segments of society, and appeal more to younger generations.
